The tour starts in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele and, walking along Via Duca, you’ll come across: the Interactive Ethnographic Museum of the Mine, which preserves not only history but above all the culture and folklore of these lands; the Pro Loco, the Ducal Palace, and Palazzo Barone Piazza. At the end of the street you are welcomed by the beautiful Mother Church of San Leonardo Abate, while to the right stands the Church of the College of Santa Maria dei Sette Dolori (also on Via Angelo Sesta). Turning left, pass through Piazza Aldo Moro until you reach Piazza San Francesco, where the Church of Maria SS. del Rosario (San Francesco) is located. Taking the alley to the right of the church, go down the Salita lo Vullo steps. At this point, turn right onto Via Crucillà and head toward the Church of the Immaculate Conception, turning right up the steps of Via Pendolino, then left onto Via Sferrazza, and finally right onto Via Ricotta to the Salita Concezione steps. From Via Nardillo, turn right onto Via Castellano and then immediately left onto Via Lauricella, continuing right to the Church of San Giuseppe. Going straight ahead you reach the Remembrance Park and the splendid Church of the Madonna del Carmelo. At the end of the street, turn right onto Via Roma and climb the Salita Calvario on the left after about 200 m. At the top of the steps you’ll be on Via Fabrizio Turati, below the old Church of Calvario. From here, descend Via Milazzo to enter Vicolo Mangione. Continuing to the left you’ll find the Testa di l’Acqua fountain, an oasis for resting and quenching your thirst. From here, head back to Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi and, turning immediately left onto Via Giacomo Matteotti and after the steps right onto Via Alcide De Gasperi, reach the little square of San Leonardo Abate.
