1 Minute of reading

The oldest document attesting to the existence of a small church on Mount Calvary is dated November 7, 1717.

Chiesa del Calvario

It is the will of Antonio Vaccario, in which he expressed the desire to be buried beneath the altar of the said church. The first pastoral visit could only take place on August 12, 1827, when the reverend canons Rizzo and Palermo “went to the venerable little church of Calvary located outside the walls of the Municipality of Serradifalco.” Every year during Holy Week, the small church hosts the Sacra Scinnenza.
