The Testa dell’Acqua is a historic fountain located in Largo Fonte.

Testa di l’acqua

Once used as a watering place for animals, today it is surrounded by flowerbeds and blossoms, serving as a meeting point and a place of memory for the local community.

This site is at the heart of a popular legend: it is said that every seven years, on the night of Saint John (June 23), a magical fair takes place in the square in front of the fountain. According to tradition, those who take part and purchase any object will find it transformed into pure gold at dawn. This legend is celebrated during the cultural event “Notti di San Giuanni”, organized by the cultural association “Sta Matri Terra Angelo Rizzo”, which includes theatrical performances and traveling shows.

In 2022, the Municipal Council approved an urban regeneration project that provides for the restoration of the Testa dell’Acqua, enhancing this symbol of Serradifalco’s history and traditions. The Testa dell’Acqua continues to be a symbol of Serradifalco’s heritage, combining architectural elements, popular legends, and cultural initiatives that reinforce its identity and community value.
