Villa Cordova

1 Minute of reading

This was a public garden located near the railway station.

In 1904, Caltanissetta honored the memory of the distinguished statesman Filippo Cordova by placing his marble bust inside the city park that was dedicated to him. The sculpture, created in 1861, is the work of another native of Caltanissetta, Giuseppe Frattallone, who also died far from his homeland, in Florence. On the base of the monument, Cordova is remembered as an “orator, patriot, eminent statesman, glory of the province of Caltanissetta.”
