Proloco di San Cataldo

Founded in 1978, the Pro Loco of San Cataldo is the centerpiece of the city’s tourism and cultural promotion. Housed in a restored 19th-century palazzo, its headquarters features an InfoPoint that distributes informational materials, handles bookings for guided tours, and provides visitor services for events and fairs. The group organizes themed itineraries ranging from the industrial archaeology of the sulfur mines to food-and-wine routes, from walks in oak woods to tours of historic churches. The Pro Loco coordinates annual events such as the Artichoke Festival, the Sulfur Mine Festival, and the Historic Parade of San Cataldo, overseeing every logistical and promotional detail. It collaborates with schools and associations on educational workshops, photo contests, and open-air theatre series, helping strengthen local identity and enhance the community’s tangible and intangible heritage.
