Christ the King Church

1 Minute of reading

The church was built in the heart of the neighborhood bearing the same name, to meet the needs of the local faithful.

On April 8, 1957, Monsignor Francesco Monaco, the sixth bishop of Caltanissetta, established the parish, appointing Father Giuseppe Alfano as parish priest. The church, designed by architect Livigni, was commissioned by the then-mayor Francesco Pignatone. The parish’s role has been, and continues to be, significant—not only as an institution devoted to the daily formation of consciences, but also for having strengthened the community through a vigorous work of unity, which has had a profound impact on the social and religious life of the people.
