The Second Edition of “Medieval Delia” Begins

1 Minute of reading

On September 6 and 7, the historical re-enactment conceived and promoted by the Folklore Petiliano Association returns.

The event brings back to life the true events that took place in Delia at the time of the Sicilian Vespers, weaving together history, identity, and imagination. It is not just a journey into the past, but a true laboratory of the future: built on unity, cooperation, sustainability, and local roots, in an inland Sicily always devoted to agriculture and community.

Three thematic paths will guide visitors into the heart of the re-enactment:

  • The Path of Merchants – among scents, fabrics, and voices from a distant time
  • The Path of Historical Relics – a dive into memory through weapons, tools, and artifacts
  • The Path of Flavors and Landscape – where local cuisine meets the beauty of the scenery

To complete the experience:

  • Stage shows and concerts
  • Demonstrations with horses, birds of prey, archers, and historical combat
  • Re-enactments of medieval food practices and medical remedies

Outside the park:
A contemporary Food & Drink area and information stands from guest institutions, including the Hospitality, Agricultural, and Vocational Schools of Caltanissetta, already partners in planning the third edition.
