San Cataldo celebrates the October Fair

1 Minute of reading

From October 10 to 13, 2025, San Cataldo will be dressed in festivity for the traditional October Fair, locally known as the “Fera Ranni,” a historic event rooted in devotion to the Holy Crucifix, the city’s patron.

The fair takes place alongside the Feast of the Holy Crucifix, which culminates on the second Sunday of October with a solemn celebration and an evocative procession through the streets of the historic center. The Crucifix, kept in the Mother Church, is carried in procession along the “Street of the Saints,” accompanied by worshippers, as well as civil and military authorities, in a moment of deep spirituality and community participation.

At the same time, the October Fair enlivens the city with:

  • Artisan and commercial stalls
  • Food stands offering typical Sicilian products
  • Rides and attractions for all ages
  • Musical and folk performances

The 2025 edition will take place in the Santa Germana district, involving Viale dei Platani and Viale dei Tigli.
An event that brings together faith, tradition, and social life, offering visitors an opportunity to experience Sicilian culture in all its richness.
